TSC assists with Christmas Spirit & Happiness for more than 100 local children
A local resident, Ms Elizabeth Magou and her husband, Freekie, approached TSC early in December, for possible sponsorship to host a Christmas party for needy and neglected children they had identified in the local community. Elizabeth is a paramedic and operates a municipal ambulance, and due to her work, has experienced the poverty in the community first hand. She identified about 150 children, whom she knew, would not experience any Christmas ‘spirit’.
It was her wish to make a difference and offer a real Christmas party for these children. She approached the Municipality, farm owners, schools, local businesses and TSC for assistance. The business community showed immense Community spirit, and sponsored the venue, presents, braai bins, wood, jumping castles and most of the food.
TSC had plans to invite the children from the local safe house for our own Children’s Christmas party on 18 December, this however, did not materialise due to the children being away at that time.
The decision was then to rather assist funding this Christmas initiative. TSC bought chicken pieces for the braai. Caroline, TSC staff member, took time off from work and assisted with looking after the children on this special day. The day was an immense success with enough food to feed all the children.
We wish to thank all the members of TSC for this valuable contribution that blessed so many children at this special time
