TSC Around the World Challenge - News and Interim Positions
Ahoy All, After a bit of a slow start, our inaugural Around the World Challenge is gathering speed and distance around the world. All the rules and impressive “Club Credit” prizes (Total R5,000) are available on the locked glass notice board in the Afdak.
There appears to be some confusion as to whether boating at other clubs would count. Regretfully I must point out Rule 7.
One of the prime goals of the challenge is to increase water sports, by all craft, at OUR Club.
So, come on all you boaters who fish, or waterski, or paddle, this is my challenge to you. Remember it doesn’t have to be a sailor that wins the Challenge.
I remind you that summer holidays are just around the corner and everyone can score a minimum of 250nm every day they go out on the water and fill in SIGN OUT/IN book in the Afdak.
Remember that you score 500nm every day that you partake in either Club Racing or our TSC Southern Classic on 1st and 2nd of Dec. (or a recognised Bass boat fishing event)
So, I am looking forward to lots of mileage, and the gaps below will be minimal.
The interim positions are listed below, as at 2nd November.
1st = 2,750nm = Eric Renzenbrink.
2nd = 1,500nm = Michiel Rust.
3rd = 1,000nm = C-L Rust.
4th = 750nm = Mary-Anne Sharwood, plus Caleb Smith.
5th = 500nm = LeRoux van Wyk, plus Christo Rust, plus Jonathan Olivier, plus Nakita van Eck.
6th = 250nm = Hugo Brink, plus Renier Bramley, plus Chris Schnehage.
Looking forwards to seeing you on the water.
