MAC have recently regenerated radio sailing at the club through a new and exciting International one design class, called the DragonFlite 95. In the last 2 years 89 boats have been sold in South Africa alone, through DF yachts, with 8 - 10 boats sailing at MAC regularly.
Theewater Sailing Academy are looking for a few new sailors to join thier racing squad for the 2019/2020 season. This exiting opportunity is open to youths between 10 and 18 years old and comprises of both race training sessions and entry into eight SA Sailing sanctioned regattas next season. If you would like your youngster to represent Theewater Sports Club at next seasons regattas, this one is for you!
The Overberg Sailing Federation have been awarded the 2019 Western Cape Dinghy Sailing Champs. This years event will be held at Theewater Sports Club over Easter Weekend, 19th to 22nd April. Although this prestigious event is still some two and a half months away, the organising committee is already hard at work!
With the dam levels at a healthy 40% for this time of the year, we are bringing back the annual TSC 9 Hour Challenge. Participants can expect some interesting weather conditions as racing will start at 9am and finish at 6pm which should allow for every possible variation that Theewaterskloof can offer.
South African Sailing has been offered two entries (one male team and one female team) for the Nations Cup Match Racing finals in San Francisco from 9 to 14 April 2019. The event will take place in the J22 class. This is an event in which we have been successful in the past and we feel it provides a unique opportunity to re-introduce this form of sailing into South Africa and to compete against the best in the world.
